Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that challenges conventional expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Uncovered
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where whispers of banned rituals and monstrous changes reverberate through the darkness." The plot features a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret cult.
The mission centers on "bizarre trials and a terrifying adversary" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer finishes with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Extra Content
Players who finish the quest will acquire an special katana in addition to several artifacts hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Addition
This patch also introduces the game's newest free story episode, titled "The Mystery." This playful mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This signifies not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime series. The series previously included a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla unofficially included a quest that clearly nodded to the famous series One-Punch Man.
