Football Recap: Denver Stage Fourth-Quarter Rally Versus Eagles, Baltimore Endure Historic Home-field Defeat

Broncos Overcome Eagles in Thrilling Finish

Denver's quarterback connected with an 11-yard touchdown pass and JK Dobbins added a two-yard ground touchdown in the fourth quarter as the Broncos overcame a 14-point deficit to deliver the Philadelphia Eagles their first loss of the campaign. The Broncos batted down Jalen Hurts' last-gasp pass on the game's concluding play to hand the Super Bowl champions to just their second defeat in their previous 22 outings. Denver (3-2) caught a huge break in their rally when the Philadelphia had a crucial play nullified on an illegal shift penalty called on running back Saquon Barkley.

Houston Texans 44–10 Baltimore Ravens

CJ Stroud passed for 244 yards and four scoring throws, and Houston (2-3) strolled to a decisive victory over a depleted Baltimore team, matching both the most lopsided road win in Texans' history and the worst home defeat in Baltimore's annals. The Ravens (1-4) were missing star signal-caller Jackson, and that was not their only problem. Key defenders multiple defensive leaders all missed the game, and the Baltimore already were weakened on defense because of a neck problem that concluded Nnamdi Madubuike's campaign. The Ravens were also without All-Pro fullback Patrick Ricard and tackle Ronnie Stanley.

Colts Rout Raiders in One-Sided Affair

Indianapolis' running back ran for three touchdowns and a two-pointer, and the quarterback passed for two touchdown passes as the Colts overwhelmed the Raiders. This decisive advantage was Indy's largest since 2013. The quarterback finished 20 passes out of 29 attempts for 212 yards and improved to 4-1 as the starting quarterback this year, exceeding his combined victory total over the past two seasons with the New York Giants. The running back carried 17 attempts for 66 yards and caught three receptions for 20 receiving yards. Indianapolis converted a blocked punt, two interceptions and a turnover on downs into TDs. Las Vegas dropped to four wins and one loss.

Cowboys Soar Past Jets in High-Scoring Game

Dak Prescott passed for four touchdown passes, leading the Cowboys to an easy victory over the Jets. The Cowboys put points on the board on two long marches in the second quarter, despite missing key linemen on the offensive line. Javonte Williams gained 135 rushing yards and a touchdown and also hauled in a TD pass. Dallas, now 2-2-1, rebounded from a high-scoring draw against Green Bay last Sunday. New York remain winless at 0-5 in Aaron Glenn's inaugural year as the leader.

Vikings Edge Browns in London Thriller

Minnesota wideout Jordan Addison caught a 12-yard scoring reception from Carson Wentz with 25 seconds remaining to give the Vikings victory over the Browns at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The 10-play, 80-yard drive gave the Vikings (three wins and two losses) a much-needed win on their overseas journey, which began with a narrow defeat to the Pittsburgh in Ireland last week. This also marred Dillon Gabriel's first NFL start, as the Browns rookie put his team (1-4) in position to win by passing for two touchdown passes. Fellow rookie Quinshon Judkins rushed for 110 yards on 23 carries. Wentz shook off a shoulder injury that temporarily sent him to the locker room and directed two scoring drives in the second half.

Panthers Stage Epic Comeback Against Dolphins

Bryce Young passed for two touchdowns and the running back ran for 206 rushing yards and a touchdown as the Panthers rallied past the Miami Dolphins in Charlotte. The quarterback's short pass to the first-year receiver with 1:59 to go gave the Carolina (two wins and three losses) the lead for good as they equaled the biggest rally to win a game in team history by erasing a large deficit. The QB had a horrific first quarter, but he ended up 19 completions on 30 attempts for 198 passing yards with an interception. Dowdle, replacing injured Chuba Hubbard, did his work on the ground on 23 carries, coming up four yards shy of the team's all-time rushing mark. The Dolphins' quarterback completed 27 of 36 for 256 passing yards with three touchdowns and Jaylen Waddle accumulated 110 yards through the air on six catches and scored a touchdown, but the Miami (one win and four losses) dropped to zero wins and three losses in away contests.

Saints Secure First Win Under New Coach

New Orleans' quarterback passed for a long touchdown to receiver Shaheed, safety Jordan Howden scooped up a loose ball the length of the field for a score, and New Orleans defeated the turnover-prone New York Giants for the New Orleans' initial win under first-year head coach Moore. Rattler secured his first victory in 11 professional starts, throwing for 225 passing yards without any mistakes. New York's first-year signal-caller Jaxson Dart, who secured his first career start last week, passed for 202 passing yards and two touchdowns, but also turned the ball over three times. The Giants turned the ball over on five separate plays in all, with none worse than when the defender stripped ball carrier Skattebo, resulting in the safety's TD. Both teams are one win and four losses.
