The attacker has netted 5 strikes in ten Spanish league matches during the current campaign.

Los Merengues winger Vinicius Jr has said sorry to the fanbase for his conduct when taken off in Sunday's fiery El Clasico triumph.

Vinicius was substituted in the 72nd min and showed his disappointment by going straight down the tunnel.

The Brazilian eventually reappeared to the dugout and, following his team's 2-1 victory, attempted to approach the opposition's opposing player during unpleasant post-match incidents.

"This day I want to say sorry to all the Real Madrid fans for my behavior when I was taken off in the Clasico," he shared on social media.

"Similarly to I have previously expressed during this morning's session, I would like to express regret anew to my colleagues, the team, and the president.

"Occasionally fervor takes over me because I constantly desire to triumph and assist my side. My determined nature originates in the affection I hold for this team and everything it symbolizes."

Vinicius moved to the Spanish capital from Flamengo in the year 2018 for £38.7m and has scored triple figures in more than 300 games.

But his career in the Madrid is far from certain with speculation in lately suggesting that the club would contemplate permitting the young star move on if they were to receive a suitable offer.

When the winger was taken off on Sunday, cameras from broadcaster Dazn recorded him saying: "It's always me! I'm exiting the club! It's wiser if I leave, I'm leaving."

In his latest post on X, he commented: "I promise to keep fighting constantly for the benefit of the club, as I have done since the initial arrival."
