The Streaming Platform is Developing a Far Cry TV Show from the Producers of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The newest action-packed instalment that players explored was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for celebrating chaos and madness with equal glee, all while presenting engaging, ideologically themed tales. No wonder then that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two creators whose creations have represented all of those things.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game series, the short-run anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' format by featuring a new backdrop and cast of characters in each season.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as lead producers on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed magnificent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and extremely entertaining. We also want to thank our associates at Ubisoft for trusting us with this popular property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we have no details on what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney finalizing a new long-term contract with the creator.

“Getting to work together with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And through it all, my FX family constantly supports me with their constant belief and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology series. Every instalment is a variation of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a version on a premise,” said Hawley. “To develop a large-scale action show that can shift from season to season, while always examining the core of society through this complex and turbulent perspective, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and bring our common irreverent, daring approach to the television.”

A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
