President the President has directed the transfer of federalized personnel from the state of California to Portland, Oregon after a court decision that blocked his initial attempt to deploy the state guard in the city.

This move bypasses a judge's decision that had halted the sending of troops in Portland by rather using reserve personnel who were earlier deployed in Los Angeles after earlier demonstrations there.

Earlier Demonstrations in LA Led to Initial Deployment

Throughout the recent period, there were significant rallies regularly in Los Angeles after the city became a subject of heightened enforcement actions. Trump sent the California's Guard to control the protests in last month, a significant action as uses are normally the duty of a state's executive.
