Witness Describes Instant That 'Deranged Individual' Assaulted Northern Manchester Synagogue
An individual involved in barricading a synagogue in the region of Manchester has shared how a tragic incident occurred, resulting in the demise of a pair of British Jews.
On Thursday morning, a congregant was within the local synagogue when an attacker rammed a car into and assaulted attendees coming together for a service to mark a significant religious event.
He stated that the 'evil' individual tried to bash down the doors of the synagogue, and he recalled barricading the facility with fellow worshippers.
Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66 died in the attack on Thursday, while three others were injured while helping to safeguard others.
Survivor Testimony of the Violence
Mr Levy, who is a leader at the synagogue, described holding the entry points and noted that the attacker used blades and outdoor items to force his way inside.
I witnessed a terrifying individual ram the main doors, trying to bash them down while armed with a blade," he told interviewers.
The single phrase that was audible he uttered 'this is what you're going to get for killing our children'.
That was all were spoken. We stood behind the doors and we were declaring 'we are not letting this man in'.
"He was an insane and malevolent attacker."
Memorial Service Observed for Individual
The remarks were made as a large gathering were present at the ceremony for Mr Cravitz.
Family members, congregants from the local Jewish community along with the community rabbi, and members of the wider Jewish community came together in the local area to honor the deceased.
Attendees occupied the burial ground, with many waiting outdoors the chapel in the inclement weather, listening to the ceremony and tribute over loudspeakers.
In a tribute shared on Friday, the victim's loved ones stated that he would "do anything to help anyone".

Law enforcement indicated that the individual may have been hit by officer shots as they shot the attacker soon after the emergency call.
The victim, who was recognized by his loved ones as a "courageous person", was attending a gathering at the synagogue when the violence unfolded.
He remained a cherished sibling, loving uncle to his several nieces and a nephew and a dear extended family member," his relatives noted.
Relatives are shocked by the unexpected loss of such a lovely down to earth man.
